Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital Receives $2 Million in Surprise Donations
At the 16th annual Celebration of Caring Gala held on March 7, 2024, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis received a record-breaking $2 million in donations. This generous contribution brings the total funds raised for the new Women and Children’s Tower at Ascension St. Vincent to over $25 million. The event, hosted at the JW Marriott, featured a live auction led by former Colts punter Pat McAfee and included a surprise $500,000 donation from the Irsay family .
The new tower, part of a $325 million expansion announced in May 2021, will enhance the hospital’s capabilities with an expanded neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) featuring 109 private rooms and “couplet” rooms that allow mothers and infants to receive care together .
Peyton Manning, who has been actively involved in the hospital’s fundraising efforts, expressed his gratitude, stating, “This $23 million dollars raised tells me people here care just as much as I do about families in Indiana getting the care they need”
The Celebration of Caring Gala has been instrumental in supporting the hospital’s mission, with Manning and his wife, Ashley, serving as honorary chairs since 2008. Their continued involvement underscores their commitment to improving healthcare for children and families in Indiana.
