THE FACE OF PICKLEBALL: Netflix Announces Groundbreaking Documentary on Anna Leigh Waters, Chronicling the Rise of the Sport’s Most Dominant and Charismatic Star
In a major moment for both sports entertainment and one of the fastest-growing games in the world, Netflix has officially announced a new original documentary chronicling the life, rise, and unstoppable dominance of Anna Leigh Waters, widely regarded as the face of professional pickleball.
Titled “Unmatched: The Anna Leigh Waters Story,” the film will offer fans an unprecedented look at the meteoric rise of the teen phenom who has not only transformed the perception of pickleball—but elevated it into the national and global spotlight. Set to premiere in late 2025, the documentary will explore Waters’ early beginnings, her explosive entrance onto the professional scene, her record-setting victories, and the pressure and passion that comes with being the sport’s biggest star.
Still in her teens, Anna Leigh Waters has become the youngest and most accomplished player in professional pickleball, dominating both singles and doubles play with a combination of speed, intelligence, and court awareness beyond her years. What makes Waters even more compelling is her charisma and humility, which have made her a beloved figure both inside and outside of the sport.
Executive producers from Netflix praised the project as a major cultural moment. “This isn’t just a story about winning—this is about redefining a sport, inspiring a generation, and proving that greatness has no age limit,” said Sarah Kim, Head of Sports Documentaries at Netflix. “Anna Leigh is a once-in-a-generation talent, and her journey is as electrifying as her gameplay.”
