Oklahoma WR transfer Gavin Freeman commits to Oklahoma State out of transfer portal
Oklahoma State has added a piece for depth in their wide receiver room.
STILLWATER, Okla. — It seems that Oklahoma State wasn’t finished with the transfer portal this cycle after all.
Oklahoma wide receiver transfer Gavin Freeman committed to the Cowboys Sunday morning. He entered the portal earlier this week.
Freeman, an Oklahoma City native, played in all 13 games for the Sooners in 2023, catching 19 balls for 95 yards and a touchdown. In 2022, he had three catches for 46 yards while also carrying the ball seven times for 73 yards and a touchdown.
“I will be entering the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility remaining,” Freeman said in a tweet on Tuesday. “I wanna thank the University of Oklahoma and the fans for all the support and love.”

A versatile player, Freeman returned a punt for a touchdown in Oklahoma’s 73-0 win against Arkansas State last season.
Freeman now joins one of the most talented and experienced rooms on Oklahoma State’s roster. He’s also the second receiver pickup out of the transfer portal, joining Virginia Tech’s Da’Wain Lofton.
