LOS ANGELES — Some of the top quarterbacks in the Golden State gathered Saturday for Steve Clarkson’s annual ‘The QB Retreat,’ bringing together a collection of high school and college talent along the pacific coastline.

The multi-day event featured participants across all classes, highlighted by the ‘Trendsetters’ group which included one five-star prospect and five four-stars in the high school ranks

The pageantry of college football goes largely unmatched throughout the sports world, and among the factors that make fall Saturdays so special are the unique game-day traditions, fight songs, massive stadiums and passionate alumni. All of these elements, paired with the thrilling action on the field, create spectacles on college campuses that cannot be replicated.

Just as important as dominant rosters in finding home-game success is the presence of a rabid fanbase. The teams with the longest active home winning streaks — Georgia, Michigan, Washington, LSU, Florida State and others — account for some of the greatest environments in college football.

Quantifying the best stadium atmospheres is no straightforward task as seating capacity, decibel levels, traditions and myriad other factors make comparing some facilities an apples-to-oranges endeavor. But a handful of stadiums stand above the rest as obvious contenders for the greatest home-field environment in the land.
