Indiana Baseball’s AJ Shepard to be Out For ‘Significant Period of Time’ After Surgery

Indiana baseball redshirt freshman AJ Shepard had surgery on Monday.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Following No. 23 Indiana baseball’s 12-6 win versus Miami (Ohio) Tuesday, head coach Jeff Mercer said redshirt freshman AJ Shepard will be out for probably four-to-six or six-to-eight weeks after his left arm or wrist surgery.

During Sunday’s win over George Mason, Shepard collided with an opposing runner going for a wide throw at first base and was on the ground for several minutes. Below is a picture taken from Shepard’s social media.
