Yu Darvish of the San Diego Padres has been placed on the restricted list due to a personal family issue.
Yu Darvish, a key pitcher for the San Diego Padres, has taken a temporary leave from the team to attend to personal family commitments. The Padres announced that Darvish has been placed on the restricted list, allowing him the necessary time and space to focus on his family matter. This decision comes as a support to Darvish during what is
likely a challenging time, reflecting the team’s understanding of the importance of family and personal well-being. While Darvish is away, the Padres will adjust their roster accordingly, prioritizing Darvish’s needs and respecting his
privacy. Darvish, known for his professionalism and dedication on the field, is appreciated by fans and teammates alike for his contributions both on and off the diamond.
San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish has been placed on the restricted list due to a personal family matter, according to manager Mike Shildt on Saturday. Shildt emphasized that there is currently no set timeline for Darvish’s return.
“We want to respect his privacy,” Shildt stated before Saturday night’s game against Arizona. “He wants everyone to know that he’s physically doing well and continuing to work on his game. However, he’s taking a step back right now to address some personal matters, and we’re going to provide him with our full love and support. He’s a valued member of the Padres’ family.”
Darvish, aged 37, has already been on the injured list twice this season due to a groin strain. Initially slated to return on June 25 and pitch against Washington, he encountered elbow inflammation, which extended his time on the IL.
