Ben Roethlisberger Calls on Steelers to Stop Limiting Justin Fields’ Potential

Just when fans thought the Steelers had their quarterback situation figured out, a twist of fate changed the game. Ahead of their season opener, the Pittsburgh Steelers named veteran Russell Wilson as the starting quarterback. With each game, Fields’ confidence and stature continue to grow, catching the attention of Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger. The Hall of Fame quarterback has been closely watching Fields’ development and couldn’t help but praise his progress. During his recent appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show,’ Roethlisberger emphasized that the Steelers’ coaching staff needs to fully trust Fields’ abilities as a passer if they want to unlock his true potential.

Roethlisberger acknowledged the Steelers’ cautious approach in the first two games, understanding their hesitation to let Justin Fields air it out. However, he emphasized that now is the perfect time to unleash Fields’ full potential and allow him to truly showcase his passing skills.

“Early on, it was almost like whether the ‘training wheels’ were on or he just didn’t feel comfortable making that throw or forcing that ball in that tight window. The last week, and then the second half of that Chargers game, he’s throwing the ball down the middle, finding seam throws.
