The Las Vegas Raiders have officially appointed John Spytek as their new General Manager. Spytek brings over two decades of NFL experience, having spent the last nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in various roles, including Assistant General Manager, Vice President of Player Personnel, and Director of Player Personnel. During his tenure with the Buccaneers, the team secured five playoff appearances, four NFC South division titles, and a Super Bowl championship.

Spytek’s NFL career began in 2004 with the Detroit Lions as an operations intern. He subsequently held scouting and executive positions with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, and Denver Broncos, contributing to another Super Bowl victory with the Broncos. Notably, Spytek was a college teammate of Tom Brady at the University of Michigan in 1999, and they later reunited with the Buccaneers in 2020.

In his new role with the Raiders, Spytek’s immediate focus will be on hiring a head coach. The team has already conducted interviews with several candidates, including Pete Carroll, Ron Rivera, Robert Saleh, Vance Joseph, Ben Johnson, and Aaron Glenn.

This appointment marks a significant leadership change for the Raiders as they aim to enhance their performance in the upcoming NFL seasons.
