As John Force’s confirmation, NHRA drivers shared touching messages for his family.

Several racers came together at the 2024 Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals to send their warmest regards and well-wishes to John Force, who is still receiving treatment in the hospital after his horrible incident.

The event’s poignant turn was emphasized by an NHRA video collection that was shown at one heartfelt part. Jeg Coughlin Jr., Cruz Pedregon, Steve Torrence, Tony Schumacher, Antron Brown, Dean Antonelli, and Erica Enders are among the people featured in the film.

“Every drag racer may be inspired by John Force, a legendary figure in the NHRA drag racing scene. There is an emptiness in the racing world as a result of his unannounced departure owing to an event that occurred on the track in Virginia. His absence in Norwalk affected the racers, crew, and fans equally. The NHRA on Fox team this past weekend was able to capture the genuine, sincere feelings of racers who took a break from their hectic schedules to convey their best wishes to John.

Each run appeared to carry a little bit more weight as the racers rushed down the course; this was a testament to Force’s lasting impact and the hope that he would return soon. It was evident that everyone was united in the knowledge that the NHRA family is resilient and unwavering.

John Force’s harrowing ordeal began during the Virginia Nationals when his car, accelerating to speeds near 300 mph, experienced a catastrophic engine failure. The resulting crash sent his vehicle hurtling into concrete barriers, necessitating immediate airlifting to a trauma center. There, the severity of his condition was evident as he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and placed under intensive care. His team revealed the gravity of those initial days in a recent update:

“After five tense days during which he was heavily sedated while battling the effects of injuries suffered in the 300 mile-per-hour crash of his drag racing Funny Car, 16-time NHRA World Champion John Force has begun to show daily signs of improvement, according to family members who have maintained a presence at the trauma hospital to which he was transported by air ambulance on Sunday.
