Forza Horizon 5, Hyundai’s genre-defining Ioniq 5 N.
All electric performance cars are typically fast, but few manage to be engaging. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has changed that narrative, and soon it will make its debut in Microsoft’s expansive open-world driving game.
Hyundai’s groundbreaking Ioniq 5 N is set to feature in Forza Horizon 5. While it excels in straight-line speed like many other battery electric vehicles (BEVs), what truly distinguishes this electric car is its dedicated drift mode, track-tuned regenerative braking system, customizable driving modes, and simulated gear shifts complete with corresponding body movements and sounds.
While some may consider these features gimmicky, they represent Hyundai’s pioneering effort to make electrified performance cars more versatile and dynamic. The Korean automaker has led the charge in this regard.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N made its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023, showcasing its performance capabilities in the hot hatchback segment. Now, it has been officially confirmed for Forza Horizon 5, marking its virtual gaming debut. The car features prominently in the video thumbnail for the upcoming Let’s ¡GO! presentation by Microsoft and Playground Games, which promises to unveil the contents of the Modern Horizons playlist.
This inclusion follows Hyundai’s increasing involvement in the Forza franchise, with recent additions including the Ioniq 6 sedan, i30 N, Kona N, Veloster N, Elantra N TCR, and N Vision 74 concept, some of which debuted in the current Retrowave festival playlist.
While the Ioniq 5 N was previously featured in a simulator at its launch using an Assetto Corsa mod, its appearance in Forza Horizon 5 will mark its first publicly available and officially licensed representation in a video game.
Fans eagerly anticipate what else will accompany the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N in Forza Horizon 5, with more details set to be revealed on June 17, 2024.
