BREAKING NEWS : Leicester City’ woes as manager shows club frustrations

Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu presently leads the Championship in one statistic.

Abdul Fatawu, the Leicester City winger, has already topped an astonishing Championship statistic.

Fatawu joined the Foxes on loan from Sporting last summer and has had an excellent debut season.

The 2004-born has the appearance of a Premier League player, and opposing defenders have battled to keep up with his lightning pace and skill.

That was clear on Saturday, when he provided an excellent assist for Jamie Vardy, who scored Leicester’s second goal in a hard-fought victory over West Bromwich Albion.

An astounding statistic has revealed, demonstrating how influential Fatawu has been this season.

Abdul Fatawu leads the way in playmaking statistics.

Leicester fans have grown accustomed to Fatawu’s direct approach, as he frequently looks to take in his man before cutting back for one of the attackers.

That was on full display yesterday when he moved past Conor Townsend down the right before providing a wonderful ball for Vardy to head home.

It was Fatawu’s 11th assist of the season, but he should have had more, as he has generated the most huge opportunities (29) in the Championship, according to Fotmob.

No player in the second tier has generated more scoring opportunities than the jet-heeled Ghanaian, with Leeds United’s Georginio Rutter coming in second with 22.
Abdul Fatawu says that he wants to continue with Leicester City.
Enzo Maresca will be anxious to keep Fatawu beyond this season, and if his team is promoted to the Premier League, his loan will become permanent.

According to reports, Leicester will have to pay £14.6 million for the 20-year-old wide player if they return to the Premier League, which appears inevitable at this point.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio Leicester, Fatawu stated that he wishes to remain at King Power Stadium.

“I want to stay here but for now we just need to focus on the season and maybe after we know what is going to happen,” said the loanee.

Two victories in their last three games will be enough to earn automatic promotion for Leicester, and if Leeds United loses to Middlesbrough on Monday, they might clinch it the next day when they visit Southampton.
