BREAKING NEWS: WOLVES BOSS MYSTERIOUSLY REMOVED, WHAT A NIGHTMARE

Wolverhampton Wanderers are contemplating a potential move for Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin amid their disappointing start to the 2024-25 season under Gary O’Neil, as reported by The Sun.

Currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, Wolves have suffered six defeats and managed only one draw in their first seven matches. Their challenging schedule continues after the October international break with a daunting clash against Manchester City.

Following that, they face Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace. While the club is keen to give O’Neil time to navigate a more favorable stretch of fixtures ahead, Thelin remains firmly on their radar.

The 46-year-old Swede has made an impressive impact at Aberdeen since his summer arrival, leading the Dons to joint-top of the Scottish Premiership alongside Celtic after winning all of their first seven league matches. They have also triumphed in their other six games across different competitions, drawing the attention of Wolves due to their success under Thelin.

Before joining Aberdeen, he achieved notable success in Sweden, winning the Superettan in 2015 with Jonkopings Sodra IF before managing Elfsborg for six years in the top tier. Although Thelin has only recently relocated to the UK, he could be poised for a move to the Premier League if O’Neil’s situation continues to deteriorate.

Former West Ham United manager David Moyes has also been mentioned as a potential replacement for O’Neil. While Moyes’ extensive Premier League experience may give him an edge, it remains uncertain whether he would be willing to engage in a relegation battle.

O’Neil, who replaced Julen Lopetegui in August 2023 on a three-year deal, guided Wolves to a 14th-place finish in the 2023-24 season. However, with the current campaign unfolding unfavorably, his position could be in jeopardy if results do not improve in the coming weeks.
