Four fresh players have been added to Cardiff City’s under-21 squad.
While Erol Bulut and the first team are negotiating for up to three players, under-21s manager Darren Purse and academy head Gavin Chesterfield have moved to bring in four new faces to bolster the youth team for the upcoming season. The club hopes to see meaningful movement on those fronts next week; you can read more about that here.
Reindorf, 19, who can play as a striker or an offensive midfielder, signs with the Bluebirds after his contract with Norwich City expires a few days ago. The Ghanaian-English playmaker was on loan at Kettering Town for the second part of the previous campaign.
Luke Pearce, a former Southampton player, has also joined the team. The 20-year-old has recently participated in non-League play for Torquay United, Weston-super-Mare, and Dover Athletic. He has also played for the Saints’ youth and B teams.
After experiencing mixed results while out on loan, he returned to Southampton and dominated the second half of the Premier League 2 campaign, scoring seven goals in 11 appearances for the youthful Saints.
Cardiff has further verified the signing of Adeteye Gbadehan, a midfield player. The box-to-box athlete, who is eligible for the USA, Nigeria, and England, drew the attention of top-tier contender Southampton during his trial with Premier League team Brentford in the previous summer. Last summer, the 20-year-old signed a short-term deal with League One team Port Vale, which initially carried him through January 2024 with the option to extend. On November 18, however, the team declared that 19-year-old midfielder Adeteye Gbadahan’s registration had been denied by the appropriate football authorities, and as a result, he will now return to the United States. The athlete then clarified that he is a British national despite not having received international permission.
