U2 is fresh off their first Las Vegas residency and ready to head into their next chapter. But while the world waits for completely brand new music from the Irish rockers, they have announced a year-long series of musical re-releases, ones which will surely be of interest to their most die-hard followers.
On Friday (April 5), U2 dropped a new collection of remixes and alternate editions of their single “Discothèque.” The album-length set features 12 songs, with most of them being different takes on the decades-old cut.
The new album runs an hour and 12 minutes long, with plenty of renditions of “Discothèque” for fans who can’t get enough of the tune. The tracklist includes the original radio edit, as well as remixes that come with names like the DM Deep Club Mix, Howie B, Hairy B Mix, and the Hexidecimal Mix, among others.
Also included on the project–titled simply Discothèque (Remastered 2024)—are two versions of a song titled “Holy Joe.” That track was always a B-side, so some who like U2 might not be familiar with the title. The cut is featured on this collection in both a Garage and Guilty Mix, both of which have been remastered.
U2 announced a new series of remixes and re-releases as they dropped Discothèque (Remastered 2024). Titled To Love and Only Love, Deep Dives and B-Sides, the band plans on spending the year sharing a dozen single collections, which will seemingly look like this new project, with many slight reworkings of one title included.
