NBA free agency is in full swing, and one of the marquee names has already found a new team. Early Monday

morning, nine-time All-Star Paul George agreed to a four-year maximum contract worth $212 million with the

Philadelphia 76ers. This move potentially signifies a significant shift in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia also

secured a five-year, $204 million max extension with Tyrese Maxey, last season’s NBA Most Improved Player who averaged 25.9 points per game and earned his first All-Star selection.

In other NBA news, LeBron James, who opted out of his player option with the intention of signing a new deal with

the Lakers, remains a prominent figure in free agency. Last season, James averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.3

rebounds per game while shooting 54% from the field in 71 games. The Lakers’ recent selection of his son, Bronny,

with the 55th overall pick in the NBA Draft provides further motivation for James to potentially stay in Los Angeles. The four-time NBA MVP has expressed his desire to play alongside his eldest son before retiring.
