Aston Villa injury news as Doctor shares update on Kortney Hause
Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause appears to be some way away from returning to first-team action post his knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his setback has not just affected him physically but also mentally as the 28-year-old released a statement on 13 May to explain his absence.
He thanked everyone for the love and support and promised that he would be back to full fitness sooner rather than later.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“This sounds like his runway to getting back to match fitness has been much longer than he anticipated and it’s impacted him not only physically but also mentally.
“Personally, I always appreciate when players share that vulnerability because it is so common and relatable.
“He was back in training in January after a 15-month lay-off due to a knee surgery so I imagine there’ll still be a lot he has to do before he’s ready to return to first-team football.“
Kortney Hause has another year left on his Aston Villa contract
Hause’s contract at Villa Park runs out in the summer of 2025 so he’s got another year to prove his worth to the team.
With Unai Emery’s side competing in the Champions League, squad depth will be paramount and the Spaniard will be happy to have the English centre-back as an option.
Whether or not he’ll be ready at the start of next season, remains to be seen, but as things stand, things appear to be heading in the right direction for Hause.
