The 2025 class’s top shooting guard, Davis Fogle, has committed to Gonzaga.
Just hours before Fourth of July fireworks displays began, Gonzaga made significant waves in its 2025 recruiting class.
Davis Fogle, a 6-foot-7, 185-pound shooting guard, highly regarded nationally and ranked as high as No. 31 by one recruiting service, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on Thursday.
Hailing from Anacortes, Washington, Fogle becomes the first commitment for Gonzaga’s 2025 recruiting class.
Fogle revealed his three finalists—GU, Kansas, and Creighton—on Wednesday. Following a visit to Spokane and Gonzaga’s campus during Hoopfest last weekend, he swiftly made his decision just days later.
While Fogle did not visit Kansas or Creighton, he had numerous options, receiving scholarship offers from programs across major conferences such as the Big Ten, Big East, Big 12, SEC, Mountain West, and former Pac-12 teams.
In an Instagram post, Fogle expressed gratitude to the coaches who recruited him and described committing to Gonzaga University as a dream come true, thanking his parents, teammates, coaches, and trainer for their support.
Fogle has previously participated with Anacortes High in Gonzaga’s team camps, and Gonzaga assistant coach Stephen Gentry made multiple visits to Anacortes to meet with him. He is ranked No. 43 in On3.com’s composite rankings, aggregating data from four recruiting outlets.
Fogle represents the initial addition to what is anticipated to be a substantial 2025 recruiting class for Gonzaga. The team currently has seven seniors on its roster for the upcoming season. In their final three signings for the 2024 season—point guard Braeden Smith, small forward Emmanual Innocenti, and 7-footer Ismaila Diagne—Gonzaga aimed to recruit players capable of immediate contributions, with expectations of them assuming larger roles the following season.
Smith, transferring from Colgate, is slated to redshirt this season.
Gonzaga has shown strong interest in several highly-rated prospects for the 2025 class, including shooting guard Isiah Harwell, who stands 6-6 and weighs 200 pounds, playing at Wasatch Academy in Utah where Nolan Hickman completed his prep career. Also in consideration are 6-8 forward Nikolas Khamenia from Harvard-Westlake High in Studio City, California, and 6-6, 210-pound small forward Jalen Haralson from La Lumiere School in Indiana.
Harwell, ranked No. 7, Haralson at No. 9, and Khamenia at No. 28 in 247sports’ composite rankings, have garnered Gonzaga’s attention.
Fogle, known for routinely scoring over 30 points per game in high school, is versatile both inside and outside the paint. Standing at 6-7, he possesses strong ball-handling skills and the ability to create scoring opportunities for himself and teammates.
Playing his senior season at AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona, Fogle averaged impressive statistics last season with 31.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and a 50% field goal percentage, alongside 2.2 blocks per game. He led Anacortes to the State 2A Tournament quarterfinals last year before a loss to North Kitsap and standout guard Cade Orness, who will join Gonzaga as a preferred walk-on this fall.
Fogle had previously averaged 24.6 points as a sophomore.
