MAIN REASON WHY MANCHESTER UNITED SACKED TEN HAG

As of my last update in October 2023, Manchester United had not sacked Erik ten Hag. He was still the manager of the club at that time, although there were mixed opinions about his tenure due to the club’s performance on the pitch. Ten Hag, who took over as Manchester United’s manager in 2022, had made some progress in terms of tactics and squad management, including winning the Carabao Cup in the 2022-23 season and leading the team to a top-four finish in the Premier League. However, results were inconsistent, and the team’s performances sometimes led to criticism of his methods, particularly when it came to their attacking play and defensive vulnerabilities.

This is why he was sacked;

  1. Poor Results: If the team’s form deteriorated, especially in the Premier League or key cup competitions, this could have led to managerial pressure.
  2. Discontent Among Players or Staff: Sometimes, internal unrest or a lack of harmony within the squad can influence a club’s decision to change managers.
  3. Expectations vs. Reality: Manchester United has high expectations, and if the club’s performances weren’t matching up to those expectations—despite spending considerable money on new signings—there could have been a push to change direction.
  4. Tactical Issues: Managers are often judged based on how effectively they can adapt to different situations and opponents. If there were concerns about Ten Hag’s tactical flexibility or the team’s struggles against top opponents, this could have contributed to his dismissal.
  5. Club Ownership and Direction: The Glazers were looking for a different style of play or more immediate results, they might have considered a change.
