NCAAF News: Kalen DeBoer Sends Bold Message To Alabama’s Quarterbacks After Jalen Milroe’s Departure. Makes Honest Admission That Crimson Tide Fans will Appreciate. Calls Out Crimson Tide’s Biggest Question Mark For 2025 Season.

In the wake of Jalen Milroe’s departure from the Alabama Crimson Tide, head coach Kalen DeBoer has delivered a candid message to the team’s remaining quarterbacks, emphasizing the critical importance of leadership and performance as the 2025 season approaches.

DeBoer acknowledged the challenges faced during the previous season, particularly in the quarterback position, and underscored the necessity for a renewed focus and commitment from his signal-callers.

Reflecting on the team’s offensive struggles, DeBoer admitted that the coaching staff, including himself and offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan, could have implemented more imaginative schemes to better utilize the roster’s talent.

He stated, “We just gotta get back to when [the quarterback is] at his best and not try to do too much, not try to get outside of what he’s capable of.

” This acknowledgment highlights the need for a tailored approach that aligns with the quarterbacks’ strengths, fostering confidence and effective execution on the field.

The departure of Milroe, who had a season marked by both promising performances and notable challenges, leaves a significant void.

His struggles, including multiple interceptions and a critical fumble in the ReliaQuest Bowl loss to Michigan, were a focal point of criticism. Former Alabama linebacker Joshua McMillon defended Milroe, pointing to systemic issues within the offensive strategy and protection schemes.

He remarked, “The Jalen Milroe disrespect is crazy! Not to blame the offensive line but this mane clearly was pressured and put in situations to not succeed.

Looking ahead, DeBoer has identified the quarterback position as the team’s most pressing concern for the 2025 season.

The competition for the starting role is expected to be intense, with potential candidates needing to demonstrate not only physical prowess but also mental resilience and adaptability.

DeBoer emphasized the importance of quarterbacks understanding their unique capabilities and not overextending themselves. He noted, “Just really do what he does best, understand what makes him different than other quarterbacks around the country.”

This honest admission and call to action resonate with Crimson Tide fans who value transparency and a commitment to excellence.

DeBoer’s approach reflects a dedication to addressing past shortcomings and fostering an environment where quarterbacks can thrive within a system tailored to their strengths.

As the team prepares for the upcoming season, the development and performance of the quarterback position will undoubtedly be pivotal in determining Alabama’s success on the national stage.
