Oklahoma Receives devastated Commitment from 4-star DB Omarion Robinson

A few weeks after Robinson’s formal visit to Norman for OU’s annual ChampU BBQ recruiting event, the highly sought-after prospect made his selection.

The Little Rock, Arkansas, native narrowed his list of potential colleges to four earlier this month and ultimately decided on the Sooners over Oregon, LSU, and Arkansas. Robinson, who is listed as 6-feet tall and 185 pounds, is ranked by Rivals as the No. 121 overall prospect and the No. 15 safety in the 2025 recruiting class.

Robinson fared well against some of the nation’s best rising seniors at the Rivals Five-Star Camp in Jacksonville, Florida, late last month. For his efforts, he was awarded MVP of the defensive back group and made the All-Camp team.

Oklahoma Receives Commitment from 4-star DB Omarion Robinson

Robinson becomes a member of Brandon Hall and Jay Valai’s 2025 defensive backfield, which was already a formidable squad. In Hall and Valai’s position room, the Natural State standout joins 4-star cornerback Trystan Haynes of Carl Albert (OK), 4-star defensive back Courtland Guillory of Klein Oak (TX), 4-star cornerback Maliek Hawkins of Emerson (TX), and 4-star safety Marcus Wimberly of Bauxite (AR).

Robinson joins 4-star Homestead (FL) wide receiver Cortez Mills as OU’s second pledge since the beginning of July.

According to Rivals, Brent Venables and team already had 20 pledges and the top recruiting class in the country when Robinson made his commitment. The Sooners were the only team behind Alabama in the SEC’s 2025 recruiting rankings going into Saturday.

To give OU a chance to regularly compete in the SEC, Venables, Seth Littrell, and Zac Alley will need to continue recruiting at a high level as Oklahoma gets ready for life in its new conference.

Fans of the Sooners should be somewhat relieved that Robinson committed to the team just a few hours after Missouri on Saturday, even if they lost out on 4-star Mesquite Horn (TX) offensive tackle Lamont Rogers.
