OLE MISS UPDATE: DEUCE MCALLISTER RETURNS TO REBELS IN SENIOR COACHING ROLE

Excitement is surging through Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and across Oxford as one of the greatest players in program history makes his long-awaited return. Deuce McAllister, former Ole Miss Rebels standout and Super Bowl XLIV champion, has officially accepted a newly created senior coaching position within the University of Mississippi’s football program. This announcement marks not only a reunion but also a symbolic homecoming for one of the most beloved figures in Rebel football history.

McAllister, who starred at Ole Miss in the late 1990s before becoming a first-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints, carved out a remarkable career in the NFL. With the Saints, he became a two-time Pro Bowler and a cornerstone of the franchise, helping deliver the organization’s first-ever Super Bowl victory in 2009. His leadership, toughness, and ability to inspire both teammates and fans made him a legend in Louisiana as well as Mississippi.

Now, nearly 25 years after his collegiate playing days, McAllister is bringing his wealth of experience, passion for the game, and deep love for Ole Miss back to the place where it all began. In his new senior coaching role, he will be tasked with mentoring young players, assisting in player development, and serving as a bridge between the past, present, and future of Rebel football.

For head coach Lane Kiffin and the current staff, the addition of McAllister is monumental. Beyond the X’s and O’s, his presence instantly raises the program’s credibility and provides student-athletes with a living example of what it means to represent Ole Miss on and off the field. His story embodies perseverance, loyalty, and championship pedigree—qualities Kiffin continues to emphasize as he works to elevate the Rebels to national prominence.

The news has already electrified the Ole Miss fan base. Alumni and supporters view McAllister’s return as a historic move that further cements the Rebels’ commitment to honoring their past while building for the future.

From a record-breaking career at Ole Miss to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in the NFL, Deuce McAllister has always been a winner. Now, as he steps into his new role in Oxford, the hope is that his presence will inspire the next generation of Rebels to achieve greatness.

Welcome home, Deuce.
