Kevin Durant Explains Why Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady Are the Most Underrated Players in NBA History
Kevin Durant lavished praise on Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady during an appearance on the Out The Mud Podcast, calling them two of the most underrated players in NBA history. Durant believes their exceptional skills often go unrecognized because they didn’t win as many titles as players like Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan.
“I thought Garnett was the best player in the league around that time (early 2000s),” Durant said. “He could play point guard, shoot threes, and do it all. So, I really think he and T-Mac are the most underrated players ever, simply because they didn’t win at the same level as guys like Kobe or Tim Duncan.”
Durant went on to highlight their technical abilities and versatility, noting that both players were excellent defensively and could make playmaking decisions like a point guard. “T-Mac, at 6’10”, could do everything a point guard could do, and Garnett was just as athletic and capable of doing those same things,” Durant added. “That’s why I feel like they’re the most underrated players to ever play.”
