Noah Lyle, Sha’Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson are among the sprinting stars who have reaped a huge following from the SPRINT docuseries that premiered on July 2.
At the moment, the docuseries has 2.4 million views worldwide and it is still being watched as one of Netflix’s popular shows. SPRINT is now the sixth among the most-watched shows on Netflix.
Following the release of the docuseries, the track stars have also gained a huge chunk of followers on their Instagram handles. As per Athletics Weekly, Richardson has gained 87,731 followers with Lyles gaining 76,682.
Thomas and Jackson have also had their followers increase, with 38,383 and 17,790 following them respectively. Fraser-Pryce gained 8812 followers while Olympic champion Marcel Jacobs and Great Britain’s fastest man Zharnel Hughes saw an increase of 8475 and 6063 followers on their pages.
Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala gained 1213 followers while double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah garnered 123 followers.
Meanwhile, the series has six episodes, where it follows the journeys of the athletes in their build-up to the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. The six episodes of SPRINT include, Heir to the Throne; Queens; Belonging; Trials & Tribulations; The Gold Standard and The Double is Alive.
The docuseries is also following the athletes in their build up to the Paris 2024 Olympics and the episodes will be released at a later date.
