The Cincinnati Reds have officially announced plans to honor one of the most beloved figures in franchise history, Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman, with a life-size bronze sculpture outside Great American Ball Park. The statue will be unveiled on September 6, 2025, in what is expected to be a deeply emotional and celebratory ceremony for Reds fans, players, and the broader baseball community.

The sculpture will capture Marty Brennaman in his most iconic form—seated behind a radio microphone, headset on, calling the game with the unmistakable voice that defined Reds baseball for nearly half a century. For 46 years, from 1974 until his retirement in 2019, Brennaman was the soundtrack of Cincinnati summers, bringing unforgettable moments to life with his signature call: “And this one belongs to the Reds!”

Brennaman’s impact on the Reds organization and its fan base extends far beyond the broadcast booth. His voice carried the hopes, heartbreaks, and triumphs of the franchise through championship seasons, rebuilding years, and everything in between. His connection with generations of fans made him not just a commentator, but a cherished member of the Reds family.

In a heartfelt statement, Brennaman expressed his gratitude and humility. “I never imagined something like this,” he said. “I’ve always just been grateful to be a part of the Reds and this incredible community. To have my likeness at the ballpark where I’ve spent so many wonderful years—it’s truly overwhelming.”

The Reds organization emphasized that the statue will serve as a lasting tribute to Brennaman’s extraordinary career and his contributions to the game of baseball. Team president Phil Castellini remarked, “Marty Brennaman is as much a part of Reds history as any player or championship. His voice is woven into the fabric of this franchise, and this statue will ensure that future generations understand the magnitude of his legacy.”

Fans across Cincinnati and beyond have celebrated the announcement, with many planning to attend the unveiling to pay tribute to the man who became the trusted voice of their summers.

The statue of Marty Brennaman will stand not just as a memorial, but as a symbol of storytelling, passion, and a lifelong dedication to the Cincinnati Reds.
