Duke Basketball: Top Moments from the First Blue Devil Scrimmage of 2024–25

A few days have passed since every Duke basketball player for the 2024–25 season arrived in Durham for summer workouts, and the program has already started to broadcast clips from intrasquad scrimmage action that took place in the Blue Devils’ practice gym.

On social media on Wednesday, videos of each player performing different workouts while wearing their Duke basketball practice jerseys appeared one by one. Then, on Thursday afternoon, the Blue Devils’ official account gave its fans a sneak peek at scrimmage footage by posing this query: “Share any highlights, scrimmages, or anything

With far to imagining possible lineups, there’s not much to rely on beyond the fact that Duke has an infinite number of possibilities. But, Duke basketball fans are now happy to see any sign of basketball in Durham, considering there are still more than four months until the team opens the regular season at home against Maine on November 4.

The 2024–25 Blue Devils, led by six-star forward Cooper Flagg, are the nation’s top recruiting class. Jon Scheyer took over as head coach of the team when former Duke basketball player Mike Krzyzewski retired. This is his third team under Scheyer.

In addition, the team benefits from the return of two guards with starting experience, Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster, as well as four new transfers, three of whom should win a position in the starting lineup.

The majority of national pundits predict that the Duke squad, which is possibly the most talented group Scheyer has coached, will start the season ranked in the top 10 in the AP Top 25 Poll.
