Raiders Announce Original Jordan Meredith’s Re-Signing
Jordan Meredith, an offensive guard and 2021 undrafted free agent who played for the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns in the previous three seasons, was re-signed by the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday.

Meredith, 26, spent time on the practice squads of the Rams and Browns but has only made appearances in NFL games for the Raiders. Last season, he made one start out of 17 games. He saw the field in 9% and 15% of the Raiders’ offensive and special teams plays, respectively, during his 92 offensive and 65 special teams snaps.

Prior to the preseason, the Rams cut him from his original 2021 undrafted free agency contract.

Despite being waived once more before the preseason, Meredith re-signed to the Raiders practice squad in February 2022 and found a more stable home there.

In his one game in 2022, he saw action on four special teams snaps in addition to 41 offensive snaps. Even though he hasn’t played much on the field in the past two seasons, he has undoubtedly contributed to the team in both his active roster and practice squad roles.

Michael Penix Jr. is slated to meet with the Raiders.
There is another set of signal-callers that are highly fascinating and might be selected after the top three quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, who are projected to be the first three overall picks.

seek to strengthen the role. Michael Penix Jr. of Washington is possibly the one who, for whatever reason, isn’t receiving as much attention.

Penix, who led the Huskies to the CFP National Championship Game by throwing for 4,903 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2023, was the runner-up for the 2023 Heisman Trophy but also won the Maxwell Award and was named to the First-Team All-American.

Penix recently dazzled everyone with his arm and feet at the University of Washington Pro Day. The quarterback disclosed after the game that he will be making a few visits, one of which will be with the Raiders.

Penix might be the franchise quarterback that the Raiders are searching for. Though selecting him at 13th overall right now could be a stretch, the team may need to decide if they think he is their guy because there is no guarantee he will be available when the Raiders take him in the second round.
