Celtics defeat Thunder in their 60th game to secure the NBA’s best record.

BOSTON – Prior to their Wednesday night game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Joe Mazzulla assembled his squad in the locker room and informed them of a big chance they had: a victory that night would secure the best overall record in the NBA.

They did what he instructed and ate.

With all of their might, the Celtics defeated a top-tier Western team 135-100 to guarantee themselves home-court advantage for the duration of the postseason.

Mazzulla warned the team not to take their accomplishments for granted after the game.

Regarding receiving the top overall seed, he remarked, “I think it’s important to have the gratitude for that.” It’s really challenging to accomplish. We might

As a team, we discussed it prior to the game and attempted to view it as the game that would decide everything, so we put the pressure on ourselves to perform well. It was crucial, in my opinion, that we mimic that. It simply serves as a tribute to the guys.

The Celtics hadn’t been in this kind of situation in a very long time. They didn’t win the NBA record that bestowed to them since 2008. The last time that had happened was in 1986.

The Celtics have won a title in each of the last two seasons. Though there is still much to be done before we can even consider using the “C” word, there is no denying that this

In the victory on Wednesday, Kristaps Porzingis, who finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and five blocks, stated, “I think we deserved this. We worked hard all season long.” “We didn’t have a set objective in mind, but as the season progressed, we continued to perform our duties and put in a lot of effort to win games, which is how we got to this position. I believe we are worthy of it, and if we stick to our goal for ourselves, it might actually matter.

The Celtics not only gained home court advantage but also achieved a significant victory milestone with their 60th. The Celtics haven’t accomplished the feat since 2008–09, and they were the first NBA team to do it.

The squad achieved 60 victories in a season for the 14th time in franchise history, which is the most of any NBA team.

After finishing with 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two blocks, Jaylen Brown remarked, “It’s an honor, it’s a blessing to be on a 60-win team.” “That took a lot of hard work, especially since we didn’t quite make it the previous season. We had to respond, bounce back, and not miss a beat. I believe we’re on the right route, but we’ll start over when the playoffs begin.

Mazzulla and I both believed that while it’s necessary to acknowledge little victories along the way to a larger objective, we shouldn’t hold back on celebrating them until the end result has been achieved.ACH
